Welcome to our twentieth year as a business!

Välkomna till vårt tjugonde år som företag! Det var i maj 2005 vi öppnade vår lilla Gårdsbutik och det är fantastiskt att vi, med er hjälp, har drivit och utvecklat vårt lilla företag så länge! Ni som vill veta mer om hur vi började, följ oss på sociala medier Instagram och Facebook (där heter vi @tasteofafricahedesunda), så kan ni se bilder och höra hur det gick till.

Just as in previous years, the Calendar shows which days we are open in the Farmstall & Café. These are apricot coloured. In April and May, it's from 11 to 16, and in June, July, and August, it's from 11 to 17. Then in September, it is open from 11 to 16 again. We regret that the CaIendar is only presented in Swedish.

Our Farmstall & Café that has become an important part of the business, will now stay open for one day longer in July. If you want to reach us on a day that we are "not open" (stängt) in the Calendar, please call (leave a message) to 0702642109, or email to info@taste-africa.com. We will get back as soon as we hear your message.
On social media we let you in on all the happenings -and it's also good for contacting us. Although not on open days, then we might be too busy to answer. Our answering service (0702642109) also mentions open hours.

VÅRRUNDAN 24 May, a day where you can drive around to different businesses in Hedesunda (Presented by our network Visthedesunda) to collect letters to make a word in a competition. Great prizes to be won! More on social media…

MOTHERS DAY 25 MAY and 20-year celebration for Taste of Africa. Shop and Café are open as usual, from 11 to 16! Please book a table in advance for larger parties! Warm welcome!

JUBILEUM-Parties in Baobab Kitchen on 8, 15 and 22 of August, in the evening from 18 (19) to 22(23). These parties will be something extra, so book now already! We will do mixed groups with you all signing up, and wonderful food cooked over fire. There will be great afrobeats, and possibility to dance under the stars!  We are still busy making plans – more about this on Social media / Events.

Taste of Africa Farmstall, Baobab Kitchen & Café is a  Sustainable destination in Biosphere region Nedre Dalälven

Baobab Kitchen är vår stolthet - en liten restaurang, där vi tillsammans med förbokade gäster (från 10 pers.) lagar en afrikansk måltid. Ni stimuleras av att möta nya smaker & dofter, inramade med afrikansk färgglädje & musik. Det är vår livsnerv i Taste of Africa. Läs mer om allt gott som ni kan laga hos oss under Baobab Kitchen
Baobab Café – just come – no booking required for smaller groups. Please if you are a large party of 8-10, please let us know so we can prepare a space for you to sit together. When you come to us, you should stay for at least an hour, perhaps longer to absorb the peacefulness in our garden. Take a seat in the sun, on the lawn or under the roof. We will take your order at the table. Here we serve coffee with an automatic refill, so that it will last for a while. If there are long waiting hours, we will give you extra tea and coffee, on the house. Our 'chilli hot chocolate' made like Grandma used to do it, is to "long for", and so are our moist cakes and Nomsa's bread. We bake in African cast-iron pots, using genuine African recipes and carefully selected ingredients. We choose organic and locally sourced ingredients, where possible, and some things like milk, bananas, & cocoa, for instance, are always organic. We use real butter and much LOVE in our baking. The eggs are from outdoor hens on local farms nearby or organically labelled. There are always gluten free, lactose free, and milk free alternatives. Please ask and we'll let you know! In the Café, we serve no lunches, only cakes and breads etc. Our frequent guests gladly have lunch starting with Nomsa's bread, then one or more of our much appreciated cakes with icecream, an exotic fruit salad, or pannacotta.
