Mrs Ball's chutney

We have shipped thousands of bottles of Mrs Ball's chutney from South Africa ever since our start in 2005. This wonderful mix of fruity apricot and peach flavours and spices quickly becomes your best friend in the kitchen, and has certainly won the hearts of the Swedish people <3. You are very welcome to taste it when you come to our shop, or meet us at a market. We use Mrs Ball's chutney all the time in Baobab Kitchen, cooking with our guests, making the most amazing stews and curries. It adds a gentle rounded balance to any dish, really. In oven-bakes we often add chutney mixed with garlic and sour cream as a topping to a heap of lovely veggies, and sometimes accompanied by chicken fillets, or other types of meat or fish. Your chutney is fantastic in a cold dip sauce (recipe below) or as a base for a potato salad (see 'Sunny potato salad' recipe at the Amelias chutney page) Fold it into a dollop of butter with garlic, salt and pepper for sweet and sour chutney butter. Or perhaps try it in the popular Farm salad that Åsa makes (recipe below).

Mrs Ball's original recipe chutney

The mildest chutney but with plenty of character and a round attractive palate. A children's favourite!.

Ingredients: sugar, water, vinegar, reconstituted peaches (14%) and apricots (2%) fruit contains sulphur dioxide modified maize starch (E1422), salt, colour (E150d), chillies. Net weight: 470 g. May contain fragment of fruit stones. This product is manufactured in a factory that processes wheat, gluten, cow's milk, egg, and soy.

Mrs Ball's hot chutney

This chutney is not as 'hot' as the name suggests. It may seem less sweet than the 'original', and with a richer spiciness.

Ingredients: sugar, water, vinegar, reconstituted peaches (12%) and apricots (4%), fruit contains preservative sulphur dioxide modified maize starch (E1422), salt, Worcestershire sauce (water, vinegar, molasses, sugar, colour (E150d), salt, onions, garlic, chillies), colour (E150d), chillies. Net weight: 470 g. May contain fragment of fruit stones. This product is manufactured in a factory that processes wheat, gluten, cow's milk, egg, and soy.

Mrs Ball's chilli chutney – currently not available

We have sold Mrs Balls chilli chutney for as long as we've been in business, and regret that the factory that makes it has stopped doing so… Sadly not everyone knows what a fantastic product this is! Believe us – we have tried, and will continue to try getting it back. In the mean time – please check out our Amelia's chilli chutney. It's fantastic!
